Andrea Opavska was one of the most prominent figures of contemporary dance in the last decade. She also played an important role within Lenka Vagnerova & Company. They were nominated for a Thalia Award, in recognition of her role as Gossip in the film, and even got one of the most prestigious awards in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a tribute for her performance in La Loba. These long and active years also come with a transformation towards the next stage of life. I realized that the gaps were growing in comparison to others in the dance group and myself. Opavska performs in an ensemble has started to consider whether this gap was a problem for the audience. An entire hip prosthesis was also administered to the dancer which impacted her performance on stage. Foundation for a Dance Career covers the topic of a second career. Andrea and I, however, focused on experiencing those difficult transitions into the next stage of our lives. We also talked about the positives and negatives of endurance training as in how you can keep getting the most value from these lessons learned. This new phase of life offers many new possibilities. She studied dance pedagogy at HAMU as well as the field of dance science and pedagogy at the UP Faculty of Arts, Olomouc.
